On behalf of the Program Manager team at AFOSR and the NASA Fundamental Aeronautics Hypersonics project, I am pleased to invite you to attend the 2012 Executive Review of the National Hypersonic Research Centers. The Executive Review will be held the morning of August 21st at the Holiday Inn in the Ballston area of Arlington, 4610 N Fairfax Drive, Arlington, VA 22203.
The review is intended to provide senior leaders with an opportunity to learn about the major national academic investments in scientific research relevant to hypersonics in a convenient single-morning format and will feature the research accomplishments of the four major academic research efforts listed below.
- The National Center for Hypersonic Laminar-Turbulent Transition Research, led by Texas A&M University
- The National Center for Hypersonic Combined Cycle Propulsion, led by the University of Virginia
- The National Hypersonic Science Center for Hypersonic Materials and Structures, led by Teledyne Scientific and Imaging, LLC
- MURI: Fundamental Processes in High-Temperature Hypersonic Flows, led by the University of Minnesota
Following the Executive Review, detailed reviews of the four centers will be conducted starting the afternoon of Aug 21st and continuing through Aug 23rd. Agenda
